DPD Chief James White confirmed that he met with Jackson on Tuesday, and subsequently opted to take the lead on the investigation.

Various local agencies will be assisting the DPD as the investigation continues, White added. “That’s the goal here, is to do everything we can to bring her home.”
Deputy Chief Kari Sloan also expressed “deep concern for the welfare and safety” of the missing teen. She said police are re-examining and re-interviewing all witnesses and asked anyone with information about the case to contact police.
Na’Ziyah’s grandmother is also asking anyone with information about her granddaughter’s disappearance to contact the police. Anette said members of the community have been passing out flyers, knocking on doors and placing phone calls in hopes of bringing Na’Ziyah home.
“If we all can come together and help find her, I’m telling you, we can make a difference,” she added.
“Just bring her home please,” Na’Ziyah’s grandmother said Wednesday. “That’s all I’m asking.”
