Listening toActive Childis like drinking a cup of codeine as your shuttle docks with a gently rotating space station . It ’s futuristic — contracting tides of synths , and and an ethereal voice that sounds part Android . It ’s very unagitated .
And after a week of helping find the coolest clobber on the internet net and satellite for you guy , my nerves are kind of shot . I want soothing . hour of Waka Flocka Flame and see the Throne propel me through most day , but at their end , and particularly on Fri , I require to drown myself in something like Active Child ’s “ You Are All I See ” . I ’m calmed , unfolded , mesmerised — the harps meld with computer sounds , the human mixes with the extraterrestrial , and I feel like I ’m watching a scene of Deckard and Rachael after they get away the last of Blade Runner .
There ’s something just more or less ominous about it , but the lulu of Pat Grossi ’s voice and melody overwhelms . I leave about all the Chrome crash , the package update , the patent war , the firmware problems , the single file incompatibilities — it all dribble out . Each song on this album is like the moth-eaten vacuum of space — deep , dark , cold , but flickering with the lifelike light of nebulae and comet . Sorta like writing for a tech land site ! It makes me feel right , and I desire it ’ll make you feel good . Digest an MP3 or two of Grossi ’s work if you want service kip , unwinding , or just feel like rest down and thinking about supernovas . It ’s moonlight base music . [ Amazon , iTunes ]
