When it come to societal networks , Apple has always cozied up to Twitter , but it turns out their relationship might have been a little more serious than we all think . A while back , Apple considered offering several hundred million dollar sign for a stake in the micro - blogging political platform .
The New York Timesbroke the intelligence with entropy from unknown sources who said the considered offering was at least in the hundred million dollar soil , a number which would have put Twitter at somewhere near a $ 10 billion valuation . At the import , however , there are no negotiations being held between the two giants .
It ’s not surprising that Apple might want a piece of Twitter considering that the two have a reasonably secure rapport already . That ’s not to refer that Microsoft has ( part of ) Facebook and Google has Google+ , so Apple ’s variety of out in the cold . An offer in the hundreds of jillion rangewouldn’t be a very big deal for Apple either , look at it ’s sit on about $ 100 billion in liquid asset .

Should the offer arrive back up , Twitter ’s opinion on the matter may have change a act now that the Facebook IPO has picture that go public can be iffy for even the largest of societal networking giants . In any issue , things are on chicken feed for now , and even if they were n’t it ’d be fairly unlikely to interchange for any of us work - day - users .
