A California teenager’s family is pleading for her safe return after she vanished more than a week ago.
Aranda Briones, 16, of Moreno Valley was last seen on Jan. 13 at the Moreno Valley Community Park, according to local authorities. “Briones never returned home after spending the day with some friends. Over the past week, investigators have searched last known locations and spoke to several family and friends of Briones in an attempt to locate her,” the Moreno Valley Police Department said in astatementon Jan. 18.
Officials have been searching through surveillance video and have called in help from human trafficking investigators and the FBI.

Aranda’s grandfather and legal guardian, Carl Horskotte, also spoke to KABC, saying: ‘It’s been a living hell.”
Horskotte’s son Matthew, who is Aranda’s uncle, said one of her friends saw her location disappear on her Snapchat map.
“Her friend said that she was on Snapchat and saw that she was in the Rubidoux area and asked her, ‘What are you doing in Rubidoux?’ and the location went off,” he toldKCBS.
Matthew also revealed his niece “did have a bad choice of friends,” telling KABC, “Everybody makes mistakes, but you know one thing I want? I just want her home safe.”
Aranda is 5 feet 4 inches and 110 lbs. with brown hair and hazel/green eyes. She was last believed to be wearing a white and blue jacket, a dark colored shirt and dark jeans.
