FFG ’s X - Wing and Wizkid ’s own Star Trek : Attack Wing have seen a pretty major revitalization of dogfighting miniature games in late years , but now the prestigious tabletop franchise D&D is get a piece of the activity , supervene upon spaceships with , err … Dragons . I entail , what did you expect ?
Dungeons and Dragons : Attack Wing take care very similar to Wizkid ’s Trekkified take on the combat plot formula – replace ship with Dragons and you for the most part have the same plot – but the interesting twist is that unlike other games of this ilk , D&D will incorporate ground units into the secret plan as well as the primary fliers :
7 elaboration for the plot are usable alongside the base starter pack and some of them , like the Sun Elf Wizard above , are n’t actual flier unit but ground unit of measurement that can burnish your dragons and harry the support troops of your opponent – akin to the pilot cards used in ex - Wing or Star Trek : Attack Wing , but with a strong-arm presence of their own on the battlefield . It ’s an interesting addition to this sort of game , and the idea of a Dragon swooping down to gobble on whatever ground unit your enemy plays seems oddly satisfying . It shape for D&D in a way that it would n’t really work for other games like this ( although now I ’m sad that X - Wing does n’t feature you flying down into atmospheric state and strafe at ground state trooper . Get on it , FFG ! ) .

The game ’s available as of today , and $ 50 will sack up you the base face pack with three Dragon models and all the rules and tokens you ask to play , and the ‘ expansion clique ’ range between $ 15 and $ 25 each . you may find out more about the game over atWizkid ’s Website .
