Donald Glover as a young Lando Calrissian in the Han Solo movie . It was the casting that made everybody resist up and applaud when it was announce last year . Now that we ’ve see a lagger for Solo and are hearing Glover talk about play Cloud City ’s principal dude , our hungriness for a Lando - centrical labor has only intensified .
Glover was interviewed byEntertainment Weeklyabout donning the iconic cape of Star Wars ’ favorite hustler and sound out that , obviously , wardrobe was a huge part of getting in character :
Lando ’s not really the substantially dressed individual on that set . And I do n’t say that thinly . There ’s just a mountain of cool costume and a lot of nerveless wearable . Lando ’s wear , that ’s what I care . I was on the QT extremely glad . His clothing is another spicery of spirit . He takes pride in the clothing . It build things sluttish . When mass see you and you ’re debonair , they lean to want to give you stuff easier . [ Laughs ]
Yeah , hoi polloi are like , oh , this guy ’s get it together . He ’s manifestly not lust , you know . He has enough leisure time fourth dimension to select a nice outfit .
Glover also utter about opportunity to be found in playing Lando as a younger military man :
I always care seeing younger characters when they are in younger times because it tell apart a lot about how they got to where they are . Like , when I was a teenager I felt like I knew a sight , but I did n’t . By the time we encounter him in Empire Strikes Back , he owns the urban center already . [ Laughs ] So , I wanted to show the mortal he was before that was even possible . Like , I do n’t even know if he think that was potential at the prison term .
