The OMACs have a celebrated history in the DC Universe — there wasJack Kirby ’s original 1970s seriesand Greg Rucka more recently turned the OMACs into nanotech cyborg in Infinite Crisis . What sort of approach are you taking with this OMAC ?
We ’re really take on a deal of different piece of it . We ’re accept a lot of the former stuff and nonsense that Kirby did . In the very first issue we haveBuild - A - Friends . We ’re bring back Dr. Scuba , and he ’s a malevolent puddle cleanser .
We ’re let a lot of merriment with disturbed eclectic stylistics from the early Kirby rendering , but we ’re lean on a lot of stuff that Greg did — we ’re going into Brother Eye ’s motivations and what his difference of opinion is with Max Lord . That ’s a very important part of the story . But the best part is that I got to work with Keith Giffen . He ’s really brought that Kirby dynamic and telescope .
Your antecedently worked on The Outsiders , another grouping of fringe DC superheroes . What is the prayer of these side heroes for you ?
I love the quirky nature of the side characters . In this picky case , we ’re telling a story of loss of personal command . OMAC is about a man named Kevin Kho . He ’s very moderate of his neat life , a little OCD . He becomes OMAC and is led by Brother Eye ’s machinations , and he ’s struggling to regain access to his own life story . Every time he does gain a small bit , it ’s rive by from him .
Every issue has a undivided esthesia . We desire to start in a very mundane normal environment . The first issue look at plaza in an office staff building , the 2nd number takes position in a buffet car , the third issue takes place in a depository financial institution . What happens is that we show how out - of - master his life gets when OMAC ’s involved and how disturbed it makes the world around him .

We went back and read the first eight result of [ Jack Kirby ’s OMAC ] over and over again . In this display case , what we escort was one character who really stood out , Dr. Scuba .
