Admittedly , the astronaut in question , Edgar Mitchell(who flew in 1971’sApollo 14moon delegation ) is from Roswell , New Mexico , but that ’s not the only reason why he is so confident of our alien neighbors ; he claim that he ’s had it confirm to him by a Pentagon functionary , concord to a CNN report :
An unidentified admiral working for the Joint Chiefs of Staff promised to expose the truth behind the Roswell story , Mitchell said . The stories of a UFO collapse “ were confirmed , ” but the full admiral was then deny access when he “ tried to get into the inner workings of that process . ”
The same admiral , Mitchell claimed , now denies the report .
Mitchell , meanwhile , is unlikely to refuse what he considers mankind ’s unfeigned determination :
Our destiny , in my persuasion , and we might as well get commence with it , is [ to ] become a part of the planetary community . … We should be quick to attain out beyond our planet and beyond our solar system to incur out what is really move on out there .
It ’s a laudably noble hope … I just wish well that Mitchell did n’t seem quite so paranoid in the narration surrounding it .
