FriendsWithYouhas a knack for creating adorable color - jazz characters , which are very often bring to life in the form of over the top vibrant inflatables . Samuel Borkson and Arturo Sandoval , founding father of FWY , just launched their first exhibition in Hong Kong title , Happy Rainbow . The 16 - patch exhibit deviate from a forty - foot synergistic bounce house , to fiberglass , plush and rosin sculptures , all unified to make an exhibit that is multi sensory and powerful in its complexness . Happy Rainbow is a variety of tangible dream land – described by FWY as “ a place where all the color of the rainbow come together to give you super magical play powers . ”
It seems like the couple behind FWY can go from 2D to 3D with a ready snap of the fingerbreadth . Borkson and Sandoval adjudicate to give us a coup d’oeil into the conventional phase of the Happy Rainbow exhibition , with their conceptual illustrations — which are art in itself . The joyous type are first created on a two dimensional wonderland , then transformed into an interactive rainbow shrine . We get up with Borkson and Sandoval , and decided to ask them some footling doubt , to get a better idea of who they are and how they work ( note : Borkson and Sandoval answered the head as one — which made us smile . )
KNSTRCT : If stranger come to our planet , and you could send only one person to be an ambassador , to talk them out of wipe out the human backwash , who would you send ?
FWY : Me .
K : When you sleep at night , do you dream of the color spectrum ? Do more than less objects in your dreams have smiley faces ?
FWY : No , there are so many thing that happen in dreaming — so nonobjective or normal situations or magic theme or matter that are not quite interpretable .
one thousand : FriendsWithYou expresses their dream of pushing evil out of the world , we love this concept ! What ’s your game plan on kicking evil out ?
FWY : I guess we do this in our personal life . We do n’t want to plain out immorality . Sometimes it ’s necessary . We just desire to gird people with tycoon and increase lovemaking and magic between all people .
K : Would you see the TV serial publication Jersey Shore a realism show or a documentary ?
FWY : It ’s just awful .
K : FriendsWithYou has right of first publication to the term “ Magic , Luck , and Friendship . ” Do either of you practice magic ?
FWY : We both do !
K : Who do you wish more , your mom or your pappa ?
FWY : Love them both differently .
K : Do you opt to read fiction or non - fiction ?
FWY : I care fancied graphic novel depicting actual storey or legends the good .
