
House of the Dragonseason 2 will premiere in June, PEOPLE can confirm.
Warner Bros. Discovery streaming and gaming chief J.B. Perrette revealed the release date while speaking at Morgan Stanley’s Technology, Media and Telecom conference,Varietyreported Monday. He did not share a more specific day for the premiere.
The news comes after HBO and Max content chief Casey Bloys teased that new episodes of theGame of Thronesprequel series would be released in the summerduring a press event in November 2023.
Fans were given an idea of what to expect in the new season whenthe first teaser dropped in December 2023.
The video was filled with action-packed sequences depicting the rising tensions between the Targaryens and the Hightowers.
Other familiar faces included Daemon Targaryen (Matt Smith), Alicent Hightower (Olivia Cooke), and Otto Hightower (Rhys Ifans).

Season 2 was greenlit in August 2022, followingthe immediate success of its series premiere. The debut episodeearned the largest audience for any new original seriesin HBO history, with more than 20 million viewers in the U.S. alone.

Production on the show’s second seasonbegan at Leavesden Studios in the U.K. in April 2023 and wrapped that September.
