Matthew McConaughey’s sonLevican cross his dad off his holiday to-do list.
On Friday, the 15-year-oldposted a video on his Instagram, taking his followers along with him on a Christmas shopping trip.
“So, I’m just finishing up some Christmas shopping and I got to my dad…he’s kind of a hard guy to shop for, but I think I found something he might like. Come on,” Levi says in the video, as a camera follows him into a musical instrument store.
Levi looks at guitars, spins a turn table and sits down at a traditional drum set to play before announcing, “Guys, I think we might’ve just found it.”
So, what does Levi think is the perfect gift for his father? A set of bongo drums, of course!
“We all know my dad loves a good bongo,” Levi says, banging on the drums. “Merry Christmas, everyone!”
It’s unclear if Levi was making a lighthearted nod to the 1998 incident involving hisfather’s arrestwhile playing bongos nude, which he wrote about in his2020 memoirGreenlights.
In April, theMagic Mikestarshared a throwback photo on Instagramof himself with a buzz cut, wearing bunny ears and playing the bongos with a friend while fully clothed. He captioned the photo, “Bongos, bunny ears and blessings#happyeaster.”

Levi and his father enjoy a close bond. Last month, the teen posted atouching tributeto the actor in honor of his birthday.
“People know Matthew McConaughey as an actor and now a writer, but I know him as my father,” he wrote, sharing a series of throwback photos of the duo together.
“The man who always makes time for us no matter what, the man who’s always there for us no matter what, and the man who taught me to appreciate the journey and not just the destination,” Levi continued. “The journeys just getting started…Happy birthday Papai.”
