Salma Hayekis speaking out about her friendship withAngelina Jolie.
In an interview at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) this week, Hayek, 57, was asked what she loved most about the relationship she shares with Jolie, 48.
“Everything,” Hayek — who was in attendance at TIFF for a screening of a movie she produced,El Sabor de la Navidad— toldEntertainment Tonighton Wednesday. “She’s been very, very enriching in my life, in so many ways — as mothers, you know. Most of all, as artists.”
The actress also told the outlet that she and Jolie have continued to get “closer and closer” over time. “And it’s just natural. It’s just something that flows,” Hayek added.

Calling theUnbrokendirector “probably the best director I’ve ever worked with,” Hayek added to PEOPLE, “and I worked with some pretty good ones.”
“I’ve always loved her as a director, but I think this might be her best, or one of the best,” the star said.
Hayek also shared with PEOPLE that the movie was “tough” but a “joy” as she continued to heap praise on Jolie. “It was a tough film to do. And then somehow, it was a joy to suffer so much [because]…she was shockingly good,” she said at the time.
The two actresses also starred together in the 2021 Marvel filmThe Eternals.Jolie played the role of Thena, while Hayek portrayed Ajak.
On Sept 2, Hayek — who has been documenting various tropical getaways on social media throughout the summer —celebrated her 57th birthdayand shared acarouselof photos on Instagram in honor of her special day.
TheFridastar wore a red bikini and light beige hat on the beach and was also pictured sitting in the sand and taking a dip in the water.
“I’m so happy to be alive and so profoundly grateful for all the blessings!!!!” Hayek’s caption read.
“My beloved family, my precious friends, my health, my work that keeps me going, my empowering team, my relationship with animals & nature, and the love of all my loyal fans. “
“Happy 57th birthday to me!!! 🎉,” she added.
